wow. what a rush. sarah and me knew about this concert for months. we had already entered a photo contest. well, unfortunately we didn’t win. however, a few weeks later our favourite radio station started playing that advertisement, which announced an exclusive panic at the disco radioconcert. i was like, hell yeaaaaah, we gotta win this. so i tried it for like a hundred times to get those stupid tickets, but again it didn’t work… on wednesday there was a myspace bulletin by panic saying that you still could get tickets by sending an email to some guy of warnermusic with your name in it. sarah and me entered that “contest” with 4 email accounts. and guess what: we won. but not only 2 tickets. no, we won fucking 8 tickets because we won with all 4 accounts!! i mean how lucky can one person be.. i don’t understand it
however. so we selled some of our tickets and went to wuppertal. we arrived at the venue about an hour before the doors got opened. thanks to the girls who bought their tickets from sarah (and who actually had waited all day long in front of the venue) we had some pretty good places. the venue was a real theatre which means that the seating was fixed. we were in the second row on the right hand side. the really really good part about the fixed seating was that there was no pushing and squeezing, so you could dance and jump without getting damaged. you really had some space for you. that was soo good! well, i think the guys played mostly old songs. that sort of disappointed me just a little bit, because i was so excited to listen to the new album live, you know.
however, they played northern downpour, which is one of my favourites of the new recoard!
well, the highlights were definitely:
a) the part where jon asked the crowd, if they won the tickets and i shouted: we won! and he actually heard it and reacted. i was all like: hell yes, jackpot!
b) the few seconds before brendon played his acoustic version of “Time to Dance”. he started again with that: “well-there’s-that-keyboard-part-in-the-song”-sentence. that’s when it clicked in our heads. sarah, lea & me started to sing that keyboard melody (dübdübdüb) and we were the only ones! and brendon looked at us and seemed kind of surprised that we knew what he wanted us to do at the touch of a button. that was awesome, because everybody turned around and looked at us. HAHA
c) then moment after the concert. we went to our car. there was a backdoor of the venue on our way. walking by that door sarah looked its way, and went on, telling me: oh, i think there was jon. and all i thought was like: then why don’t you stop and stare?! so i went back to the door. and there he was. jon, looking kind of confused, like a little dog who lost his mother.
and i stood in front of that door and just watched him. i thought, hmmmn, should i call him.. eerhm, no, then all the girls would come up here. so i waved at sarah to come back and we stood there, enjoying that moment. that was just when we heard brendons voice calling: uff, it’s fucking warm in here!! and all i thought was, yaaay, he’s coming outside. then he came. and i was all like: O_O WHAT THE HELL?! HE WAS SHIRTLESS! it’s not like he has such a muscular chest or something, it was just his thin unmanly chest, but i was overwhelmed. i don’t know who talked first, but he said: “heeey” and i was like “hiiii *squeek*” and then i was totally freaking out. haha, that was awesome.
result:
the concert was awesome. there was almost nothing to complain about. really, and ecspecially the venue was amazing!!
