i already wanted to go to the Fall Out Boy concert in march 2007, but again (i had that problem in 2006 with Panic At The Disco, too) there was nobody who wanted to join me. when i got the tickets for the Decaydance Fest i was soo happy. i read about the supporting acts. i knew some songs by Cobra Starship and i knew The Academy Is… only by their name.
my friend and i went to cologne, we arrived at the line about two or three hours before they were letting people in. we had some good places. and we had some fun, waiting outside (because there were actually some strange people). then we got in, and we had awesome places in the crowd. we were in the third line at the left side. we were so near to stage. awesome! it took about one hour until the concert started with Cobra Starship. i hadn’t ever payed much attention to Cobra Starship before. i just new that they had a couple of cool songs. however, when Gabe entered the stage i was like shouting: wtf, mariiie, he is freakin’ hoot! (i mean, i actually thought he was a girl judging by their former default at myspace xD). Cobra Starship really rocked out that stage. it was awesome! they played “The Ballad Of Big Poppa And Diamond Girl”, “The Curch Of Hot Addiction” and “Bring It” (these are the ones i’m sure of, i don’t want to write something, which is not true). the atmosphere was awesome, really!
then The Academy Is… entered the stage. i think they were pretty lame. okay, maybe it was because i just knew one song by them, but i gotta say, i only knew three songs by Cobra Starship and i had a lot more fun with them. i don’t know, i just didn’t like The Academy Is…
finally Fall Out Boy entered the stage and i still remember that they just started with my favourite song of “Infinity On High”: “Thriller”. i was like taking photos, shouting, dancing, jumping around all the time. it was really really nice.
the bad thing about the whole concert was the heat. i was really thirsty. when they threw Joe’s bottle into the crowd i catched some of the water drops of it. and no, i wasn’t all like: omg, i just got some water out of Joe’s bottle. i was just happy that i tasted different water than my sweat. haha.
after the gig we met Gabe Saporta outside, i got my ticked and my shoe signed, took a photo with him and hugged him. and i bought myself a cute Fall Out Boy shirt.
result:
i have to admit that i enjoyed Cobra Starship more than Fall Out Boy, although they were awesome, too. what i didn’t like at all was The Academy Is… and that hotness in the venue.
